mIRC
This tutorial will show you how to download, install, and configure the mIRC software. You may also obtain instructions directly from the mIRC website. You can also use the free Java-based version of chatrooms by clicking on the "Chat Rooms" link.
Click here to download the latest version of mIRC. Simply save file to disk and then Open and install mIRC.
*note: you may click on the mirc image to enlarge the image onto a full window for clarity.
PART 1 - Add the Pennychat.com server to mIRC server list.
1. Once you have mIRC installed simply open the program and then press "Alt + O" or click on File then Options.
2. In the Options
window click on Servers on the left in Category (You may
need to Dbl Click on Connect in Category area before you can do this)
and then click on Add button in the center.
3. Type in the Pennychat.com info as shown in the picture and then click Add.
NOTE: Please enter as Group: Pennychat this is required for auto
perform features!
4. Click OK on the mIRC Options window to
save it and then Restart mIRC. Sometimes the newly added server will not
show up until you restart the program.
PART 2
1. Unless you have already connected to
Pennychat.com you will need to select it as the server. Now that you have
restarted mIRC, the mIRC Options window should automatically popup. Double click
Servers at the left and then select Pennychat.com from the drop down IRC Server
list in the center.
2. Click Connect to Server near the
bottom.

You are now connected!
Simply type in the Status Window:
/join #nameofchannel
Useful Commands/Tips
Register your nick
/msg nickserv register password ur@email.com
password = use a personal password which you must remember!
ur@email.com = use your email address
ex. /msg nickserv register abcpass john@yahoo.com
Identify your nick
/msg nickserv identify password
password = the password which you registered your nick with
Auto Identify your nick
Click on File
Click on Options
Click on Perform
Check box Enable perform on connect
In the window enter
/msg nickserv identify password
To auto connect to multiple servers (PC and FC) do the following:
Click on tools
Click on remote
Insert the following:
on *:START: {
server pennychat.com
server -m irc.financialchat.com
}
